So, what are the best marvel animated movies? Although Marvel Animated Universe (MAU) might not seem as extensive as DCAU (DC Animated Universe), we’ve got some fantastic movies for you.

10. The Invincible Iron Man
When Tony Stark uses high technology in a forgotten city, he unleashes the China’s darkest dynasty. When he travels to investigate it, he gets injured by the Jade Dragons and his life gets saved by a Shaman.
Now to save the world from the Mandarin Emperor, Tony Stark must create his greatest invention, and he had to become one with it to keep his life intact.
If you have watched the Iron Man live action which came out a bit later first, you might not enjoy this one much. However, it was a fresh take on Iron Man’s beginning and introduced a pretty intriguing concept with some pretty great action sequences.
9. Thor: Tales of Asgard
The story sets long before Thor became worthy of wielding the Mjolnir. The impulsive young man Thor, the son of Odin and his half-brother Loki, set out to an adventure in search of the Sword of Surtur in Jotunheim.
However, the quest proves more challenging that he can ever expect and what’s more, the consequences of everything on the line which pushes him to break boundaries of power which later helps him in becoming one of the greatest Avengers.
Thor: Tales of Asgard is a great movie, but not a blockbuster by any stretch, though. We get to see Thor and Loki in their first adventure and can actually witness a great character development of Thor. It is fun to watch and filled with “Bromance.”
8. Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow
Next Avengers star the children of Avengers who hone their powers to face the dangerous enemy who became the demise of their parents. With their lack of experience in dealing with tough enemies, how will they survive?
To be honest, Next Avengers came as a pleasant surprise for us. After going through the plot, we thought it would be a clichéd storyline, but it really turned out to be something quite special.
Although it is not everyone’s cup of tea, if you’re into marvel animated movies/ films, we’re pretty sure you’ll enjoy this kid friendly riot of fun.
7. Ultimate Avengers II: Rise of the Black Panther
Once again, the ultimate Avengers had to gather to face the same threat when they faced while fighting the aliens. But this time, they face both aliens and Captain America’s old enemy, Herr Kleiser (the alien shape-shifter from 1945).
When they invade Africa and kill Black Panther’s father T’Chaka, Black Panther heeds the Avengers’ assistance. To stop the invasion of aliens, a bloody war takes place in Africa, but this time with more action.
Wouldn’t it be astonishing to see Black Panther along with the Avengers facing an even greater threat? Well, the production team managed to bring Black Panther into spotlight and once again, made all Avengers outstanding.
6. Ultimate Avengers: The Movie
After staying frozen in ice for 70 years, Captain America wakes up in the 21st century to lead a group of superheroes to deal with an alien menace which could destroy the whole world if ignored.
The first Marvel’s brilliant animated production which brings characters to life. Along with some exquisite action sequences, this movie manged to capture the viewers’ attention for every minute. It is undoubtedly one of the best animated marvel movies we’ve seen so far.
5. Dr. Strange
When a crippled doctor travels to Tibet for cure, he becomes the Sorcerer Supreme and decides to battle Dormammu and its followers while investigating a mysterious case related to children.
When a Marvel animated movie hits the mark, this is precisely how we feel, and Dr. Strange proves it again. Until 2007, Marvel wasn’t shining much with only four animated movies, but you could say, Dr. Strange entirely changed it. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s time you do.
4. Planet Hulk
Our Incredible Hulk gets ejected from the Earth and lands on a planet ruled by a tyrant. Being forced to fight in a coliseum against the toughest fighters in the universe, Mr. Hulk goes on a rampage.
Much like the story portrayed in the comic book, Planet Hulk scores a hit with a clear development in his characterization and immense action now and then. If you’re watching the movie to see Hulk smash aliens to pulp, you’re in for a treat.
3. Hulk Vs.
Hulk Vs. features two stories where the first one involves Wolverine who is sent down to hunt the Hulk when he crosses the Canadian Territory.
The second one sets in Asgard where Loki pits Hulk against Thor, but unfortunately the Hulk goes out of control and two brothers had to join hands to save their Asgard.
Two awesome stories in a single movie? Can it get any better? Although you can’t find character development and mind-blowing story in this movie, you can enjoy battles to your heart’s content.
2. Big Hero 6
When Hiro’s brother passes away mysteriously, he teams up with his brother’s robotic companion Baymax to discover the truth. However, once he comes across a person with Kabuki mask, he realizes how dangerous it actually is.
Well, Big Hero 6 doesn’t come under Marvel Cinematic Universe, but its story is adapted from Marvel Comics. Probably, Big Hero 6 will be the greatest action animated movie you’ll watch in your life. It’s a terrific movie with excellent animation, story, and animation.
1. Spider-Man: Into the Spider Verse
Miles Morales, a lousy teenager, becomes the Spider-Man in his universe, and he joins with five spider individuals to fight against Kingpin who can open portals to summon otherworldly beings.
Everything about Into the Spider Verse is a sensation. Never in our lives we have thought such an incredible animated movie would be coming from Marvel, and we bet, Stan Lee is smiling from heaven looking at this masterpiece.
With spectacular animation, gripping storyline, right character development and mind-blowing stunts, this movie is so far the best animated film by Marvel.
