The story takes place in the city of Fukuoka that is filled with criminals, assassins, professional killers, and detectives who try to catch them. Zenji Banba strives hard to stop the crimes, but it isn’t easy for him.
But one day, when a hitman named Lin is sent by an organization to kill Banba, instead of killing, he joins hands with him. Together, they both try to eradicate the crime in the city.
From the synopsis, you can pretty much tell that this anime involves lots of action with guns. Well, you got exactly what you want and with a revenge-themed storyline.
The story is well-written, and you get a mixed feeling of watching Baccano and Bungou Stray Dogs. There is no fanservice, and you can count on it to entertain you till the very end.
12. Blade of the Immortal
Manji has recently turned into an immortal swordsman, and he has sworn to kill a thousand villains for not being able to protect his little sister. In his journey, he meets a young girl named Rin.
Rin lost her parents to a group of swordsmen named Itto-Ryu. As she strives to avenge them, Manji helps her with it, but can he achieve it even though he is an immortal?
Yeah, I know the anime wasn’t a great adaptation of the manga. Although the story is pretty good, it lacked other aspects in the process.
But in terms of presenting a revenge story, it has done a very good job. The opening soundtrack, the animation, and the relationship between the characters are impressive.
11. Sirius the Jaeger
The story takes place in the Imperial Capital in the year 1930. A group of people carrying musical instruments in Tokyo called “Jaegers” goes on slaying vampires.
Amongst them, Yuliy is a werewolf, who lost his home village to vampires and since then, he began hunting them. Who’ll win in this deadly battle between Vampires and Jaegers?
Sirius the Jaeger is the anime you’re looking for if you love the supernatural genre. I mean, you got action with vampires as villains and a revenge-themed story.
I honestly didn’t find a single flaw except some characters taking a bit more screentime than they deserve. Other than that, it is the perfect revenge anime you could ask for.
10. Blast of Tempest
The princess of the Kusaribe clan Hakaze gets betrayed by her own people, and they seek to revive the Tree of Exodus that might save the world from the Tree of Genesis.
But she knows it can put whole humanity in jeopardy, and with her little magic, she asks for help. Mahiro Fuwa, who lost his sister agrees on one condition: if she tracks down the killer of his sister.
This anime feels like two halves because the first 12 episodes are tightly plotted with a pinch of thrill and mystery. But the second half focuses on the characters’ emotions and the entire premise.
So, you could say it is a unique revenge anime. It has a good ending, and throughout the series, you won’t get bored at all. Thus, it is definitely a must-watch anime that revolves around a revenge concept.
9. Claymore
The story sets in a world where monsters are known as yoma feed on humans, and they can even blend among the society by taking the appearance of humans.
To stop them, Claymores exist, who is half-demon, half-human, and eventually, they lose humanity. A young boy named Raki gets banished from a village and joins along the journey with Clare, a claymore.
Claymore is one of the best dark anime shows I’ve ever watched, and although the manga was better, anime has its plus points. The animation is amazing, considering it was made in 2007.
It has a compelling storyline that can keep any kind of anime viewer in a state of amazement. If you’re looking for a revenge anime with a really good storyline, you shouldn’t miss this one.
8. 91 Days
When he was a child, Angelo witnessed the murder of his family in the town of Lawless by the Vanetti mafia family. After losing everything, he leaves the town and goes into hiding for years.
Seven years have passed, and after receiving a letter, he comes back to the town to befriend the son of the Vanetti family and kill everyone who is involved in the family’s murder.
91 Days is both an intriguing and exciting story as it makes the viewer enthralled. It has tons of grotesque scenes that will shock you, but if you love violence, you’re in for a treat.
The animation is good, fight scenes are done exceptionally well, and the overall execution is just perfect. If you’re looking for an action revenge anime, I’m afraid you can’t find a better one.
7. Castlevania
The beloved wife of Dracula, Lisa Tepes, gets accused of witchcraft and burned by the people of Wallachia. Who would’ve thought they messed with the lord of vampires?
Dracula unleashes the powers of Hell upon the Wallachia town, but Trevor Belmont, the last son of the Belmont clan, decides to accept the fight from the vampire lord. Who will win?
Castlevania is an absolutely amazing anime to watch. The characters are truly exceptional, along with the amazing plot and the action scenes are excellent with blood and magic effects.
Although it is based on the game, this is as good as the anime can get. With every aspect being taken care of in a detailed manner, it is one of the best revenge anime shows you can find.
6. Yona of the Dawn
Princess Yona lives a peaceful life in her palace, and she never had any difficulties except wanting to get married to her cousin, Su-won.
But it all changes when his father gets murdered and she had to escape the kingdom along with her bodyguard, Hak. How will she survive and reclaim the kingdom?
If there is one thing I love about this anime, then it would be the storyline. It is just so amazing, and the characters are endearing.
The animation is eye-catching, and the action scenes are well done. If continuing the story with manga isn’t a deal-breaker for you, I highly recommend this anime.
5. Monster
Dr. Kenzo Tenma is a genius surgeon, who is admired by his colleagues and even engaged with his boss’s daughter. But everything changes one day when two patients in need of emergency surgery arrive at the hospital.
He faces a terrible choice on whether to save an orphaned kid or mayor. In the end, he saves the kid resulting in Mayor’s death. Soon, his life becomes nothing but a series of terrific events.
Monster is a slow-burn anime that takes a lot of time to hook you in. But once you have gotten into the actual storyline, you’ll be able to witness an amazing thriller anime with incredible twists.
The story itself is a true gem, and it is hard to find another anime like Monster. With all-around excellence in every aspect, Monster is second to none when it comes to thrill.
4. Redo of Healer
Keyaruga becomes the hero of healing and gets used by the princess and her brutal underlings. But in a fight with the demon king, he finds an item that can revert time.
After finding himself back in time with his memories intact, Keyaruga decides to avenge them. With his unique healing ability that lets him absorb others’ prowess, how will he plan his revenge?
No matter what anyone says, Redo of Healer is a unique take on the revenge anime genre. The author made the storyline very interesting instead of just filling it in with banging scenes.
You loathe some characters a lot, and Keyaruga is the perfect MC to counter them. If you haven’t watched this one yet, you might as well do it right away.
3. Attack on Titan
It’s been over a century since mankind has been driven into extinction by man-eating giants called “Titans.” People built walls to protect against them, but one day, even those walls weren’t enough.
A Colossal Titan broke the first wall, and as a result, titans overrun the place. Eren Jaeger witnessed the death of his mother and swore to exterminate all the titans from the face of the earth.
Right from the first episode, you’ll know AoT is a pure revenge-themed story. The action scenes, the intense situations, and the plot twists are the ones you’ve probably never witnessed before.
Attack on Titan is most people’s favorite anime, and if you’re looking for a revenge anime with intense action and an excellent storyline, you can’t find a better one.

One day, when he gets caught up in a terrorist attack, he finds a girl named C.C who grants him the ability to control minds. How will he get his freedom, or should I say his revenge?
The best anime ending of all time, yes, I’m talking about Code Geass. This anime isn’t for everyone, but the people who pull it through the episodes will never forget it.
The revenge theme is perfectly executed, but it also leads to an even greater cause. If you haven’t watched this masterpiece yet, now’s the time.

Young Thorfinn always listened to the stories of Vinland, where there is nothing else but peace. When war between England and the Danes has been going on, he sets sail with his father.
Unfortunately, his father gets killed by a mercenary leader, and from this moment, Thorfinn decides to avenge his father. But what awaits him in the end?
