When you hear the word ‘gamble,’ what do you imagine? As for me, I’d recall Kakegurui anime. Yes, we’re talking about this brilliant anime, and as you know, Kakegurui live action film released in March 2019. It is so rare for live actions to get a sequel, but for now, we have an exception for this anime.

Kakegurui Live Action Film Gets a Sequel in 2021!
The official website of the live-action for the anime Kakegurui recently revealed that the sequel for Kakegurui live action is in works and will come out in 2021. In addition to the info, it also released a teaser and a key visual of the live action film. The title of the film will be Kakegurui: The Movie 2 (tentative title) while the title of the first film, as we know, Kakegurui- Compulsive Gambler.
The first live-action film was adapted from the initial ten episodes of the TV drama series that aired in 2018. In 2019, the second season of the anime with five episodes had come out. Right after the second season’s release, the franchise released the live-action movie.
It earned over 360 million yen from its domestic run. Now the sequel film will adapt the second season of the anime which is quite obvious. Here’s the key visual for the movie’s sequel.
As for the cast and crew, the first film’s director Tsutomu Hanabusa will be directing the sequel as well. Also, all of the main cast members will be returning to their roles, not to mention the protagonist Minami Hamabe (19-year-old). And the budget for the Kakegurui live action film’s sequel is almost the same as the first one.
