Kingdom returns, and here’s what excites Us!

After the years of waiting, there is a confirmation on the third season of Kingdom anime series. And there are more exciting things than just its release date. The third season will cover the story events from the Coalition Invasion Arc from its manga by Yasuhisa Hara.

“Kingdom” is set to premiere on NHK General TV(NHK-G) Channel on April 5, 2020. Hara will be back to the production team in a supervisory role. It seems like he’s going to work with a brand new team for the third season of the Kingdom.

And there are many changes in the cast and other departments for the third season. Pierre studio is the producer for the first two seasons, but for now, the production studio switched to Signpost, which is a subsidiary of Pierre. As we know, the director of season 1 is Jun Kamiya, and for season 2 is Akira Iwanaga, and for the third season, Kenichi Imaizumi will be directing the anime.

The series composition will be handled by Noboru Takagi, who is famous for his works on the Golden Kamuy anime series. And the character design responsibility is given to Hisashi Abe, who previously worked for Berserk and Psycho-Pass: Sinners of the System. Well, it might not surprise you because we’ve already seen the changes in primary staff in both the first and second seasons. Maybe they’re trying to show every season differently to the audience.

Even though there are significant changes in the staff, there were the old staff members who retained in both the seasons, such as Mitsutaka Noshitani, Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, and a few others. Some of the anime fans even criticized the first two seasons since there is a significant change in CGI for both seasons. With the third season following the same mistake, will it meet the same path as the past two seasons? Maybe not because the third season shows a variation by animating the battles in 3D as a time-saving measure by the studio.

The official cast returning to Kingdom S3 includes:

  • Masakazu Morita as Li Xin
  • Jun Fukuyama as Ying Zheng
  • Rie Kugimiya as Heliao Diao

Bish will perform the opening theme song of the Kingdom Season 3 “TOMORROW” while Waterweed is going to perform the ending theme song “Deep Inside.” Funimation released the dub for both the first and second seasons, and it is currently unknown whether it will do the same for the third season. Well, we’ll have to wait and see until it happens. With season 3 is near, we hope you’ll enjoy it as you did in the past two seasons. Until then, stay tuned for more updates.
