For the past one and half a year, we have been waiting for a confirmation on the next Makoto Shinkai anime film. At last, we have definite and accurate information regarding it.
During the press conference on the Toho YouTube channel, Makoto Shinkai announced about the anime film, and recently, a teaser visual has also been revealed for the anime. You can view it here:
Aside from the anime’s release date being in the fall of 2022, there have been details related to the staff of the project. So, here are the staff who’ll be working on the upcoming visual masterpiece.
Crew members include:
- Director and Writer: Makoto Shinkai
- Character Designer: Masayoshi Tanaka (Your Name and Weathering With You)
- Animation Director: Kenichi Tsuchiya (Your Name)
- Art Director: Takuma Tanji (Your Name and Garden of Words)
- Production: CoMix Wave Films
- Distributors: Toho
Shinkai also tweeted on his official Twitter account, saying that the movie will be a “modern adventure story” and it will also be fun. Here is the tweet:
Suzume no Tojimari (Suzume’s Locking Up) is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2022 in Japan, but there hasn’t been any announcement for the international release date.
