While the series was supposed to conclude with the 17th volume, Kugane Maruyama stated that his new draft about the “The Half-Elf God-Kin” exceeded more than 700 pages and will be split into two, which will release on June 30 and July 29 respectively.
“Overlord will end in two volumes,” said Maruyama in the second part of Volume 16’s afterword, “I hope you follow the series a little bit longer.” He said that he hopes the final two volumes will be published in a short period, like the two newest volumes were.
Synopsis:
In the year 2138 an office worker logs into a defunct video game for the last time only to find out that he and his guild have been transported to another reality. He is then transformed into the form of a skeleton as “the most powerful wizard.”
Kugane Maruyama wrote the story of the Overlord light novel series, with art by so-bin. The first volume of the series was released on July 30, 2012, Studio Madhouse made the anime adaptation and will produce Overlord Season 4 under Naoyuki Ito’s direction.
