On Friday, the 18th issue of Hakusensha’s Young Animal magazine revealed that Rin Suzukawa’s Asobi Asobase (Play and Let Play) manga would conclude in three chapters. The final chapter of the manga will be published in issue 21, which will release on Oct 28, 2022, if the manga does not go on a hiatus.

Written and illustrated by Rin Suzukawa, the comedy manga launched in 2015 on Hakusensha’s Young Animal Densi website. Hakusensha has published 13 volumes as of January 2022.

The manga got a 12-episode comedic anime television series adaptation by Lerche aired in Japan from July to September 2018. Seiji Kishi directed the 12 episodes with a screenplay from Yuko Kakihara and the music composed by Masato Koda. Hina Kino, Rika Nagase, and Konomi Kohara created both the opening and ending songs for the anime.

Synopsis:

The anime follows three 2nd year classmates, Hanako Honda, Olivia, and Kasumi Nomura. Kasumi, a bright and serious student, hates games even though she is good at them and terrible at English. Olivia, a pretty girl from America raised in Japan, poses to be bad at Japanese, and Hanako, a girl who wears her hair in pigtails, is clever but yet struggles to be a normal person. These three are the only members of an unofficial Pastimers Club who often think of ways to pass the time.
