On Friday, the television anime series The Rising of the Shield Hero crew released a new teaser trailer and the first visual for the anime’s forthcoming third season. The teaser announces that the season will premiere in October 2023.

The franchise’s official Twitter account is broadcasting a subtitled version of the video, and Crunchyroll has verified that the series will be available in October.

Hitoshi Haga, who storyboarded five episodes and directed four in the anime’s first season, is the principal director for the third season. He is the series’ third director, following Takao Abo from the first season and Masato Jinbo from the second. Keigo Koyanagi continues to create and polish the scripts for the series. Kevin Penkin will return to compose music, and Kinema Citrus will return to produce the animation for the show.

The Rising of the Shield Hero 2, the second season of the television anime series The Rising of the Shield Hero, premiered on the AT-X channel on April 6, 2022. The anime had already been postponed, with an initial release date of October 2021. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime in addition to the Japanese broadcast.

The Rising of the Shield Hero anime series debuted in January 2019 with a two-hour special and ran for a total of 25 episodes. Crunchyroll broadcasted the series as it aired in Japan. Crunchyroll debuted the first dubbed episode with guests from the anime at Crunchyroll Expo in September 2018.

Synopsis :

Naofumi Iwatani, an unassuming otaku who spends his time playing video games and reading manga, is unexpectedly transported to a parallel realm! He soon learns he is one of the four heroes armed with legendary weapons tasked with rescuing the planet from its doom. All is not as it seems for the Shield Hero, the weakest of the heroes. Naofumi soon finds himself alone, destitute, and betrayed. He is left with only his shield and no one to turn to. Now it is up to Naofumi to ascend to the legendary status of Shield Hero and save the planet.
