Bleach is one of the most popular anime of all time and especially well-known for its fillers. Despite the fillers, Bleach is a wonderful anime, and indeed it is a grand mark for the Shonen genre. And the manga readers know the actual value of Bleach, and it’s incredible arcs.

After years of waiting, Bleach is finally coming to an end. If the anime is free of fillers, it would’ve been extended like eight more years; however, the Thousand Year Blood War arc is finally getting an anime adaption, which will likely be the final arc of Bleach. And the new season is scheduled to release in 2021.

The official Twitter account of Weekly Shonen Jump has posted the news about the Thousand Year Blood War arc. This arc was the final storyline of Bleach; however, it didn’t get any adaption since the original anime stopped airing in 2012.

20th Anniversary of Bleach manga

The original manga of Bleach began in 2001, and that makes a whole of 20 years for 2021. It might probably be the reason to end the anime. What would seem a perfect time to send off than its 20th anniversary? The announcement of the big project is a part of its 20th anniversary, and it was supposedly held in March 2020, but due to the issue of COVID-19, it was canceled. But most likely, they will broadcast it live through Youtube and different social media.

The anticipation for the final arc is higher than other arcs, and since 2012, there were countless petitions to finish the final arc through anime adaption. It seems like the prayers of fans didn’t go in vain. Since there were a few mysteries in the Bleach, they will be shown in the final arc about their origin, such as how Soul Reapers, Hollow and Quincy got their powers. The online streaming of the event will be starting at 9.45 a.m on March 21 as per Japan Standard Time. Currently, the Anime Japan 2020 is the largest anime convention in Japan, and luckily it will be streamed through the official youtube channel of Shonen Jump.

Animeukiyo describes the story as:

“Ichigo Kurosaki was born with an ability to see ghosts. His family gets attacked by a corrupted hollow soul that seeks to devour human souls. It is when he meets a soul reaper Rukia Kuchiki, who gets injured after trying to protect Ichigo’s family. To save his family, Ichigo had to accept to take the powers of Rukia. Then Ichigo becomes Soul Reaper, dedicating his life to save innocent lives and other tortured spirits to find peace themselves.”

With Bleach’s final arc, the anime is going to get an ending, which is sad for a few and happy for many fans since they are waiting for many years for this to happen. There is no news regarding any production and cast details. For more info, stay tuned for updates!
