Hori-san to Moriyama-kun!

Horimiya is the best, if not, one of the best anime adaptations to come out in 2021. Right in the first episode, you’ll be hooked, and damn, those characters are quite wholesome, sweet, funny, and what else!

Either you have watched the anime or read its manga, you must be craving for some manga/anime similar to Horimiya. So, here’s the combined and perfect list for you!

Anime like Horimiya!

1. Kimi no Todoke

Anime like Horimiya- Kimi no Todoke

The story follows Sawako, who is ignored by all of her classmates because she resembles Sadaka from the movie “The Ring.” However, the most popular guy in the class, Kazehaya gets close to her and we get to witness a whole new rom-com.

To be honest, Kimi no Todoke is a replica of Horimiya with opposite characters of main leads. In Horimiya, we’ve seen how Izumi’s classmates treat him such as saying “He’s gloomy” and stuff.

And then, Hori comes like a “Shining Knight in Armor” and rescues him from the sad life. Kimi no Todoke was the first rom-com I’ve loved watching, and after this, only Horimiya gave me such a beautiful feeling.

So, if you’re looking for an anime like Horimiya, then this is right up your alley.

2. Wolf Girl and Black Prince

Wold Girl and Black prince- Anime like Horimiya!

Erika lies to her friends about having a boyfriend just because she can earn more respect from them. When they ask her to show his picture, she snaps a random stranger’s pic, and he turns out to be a popular guy.

Not knowing what to do, she asks him for help and learns he isn’t as nice as he seems. As he demands her to become his “dog,” and soon Erika finds out the positive side of Kyouka, begins to fall for him.

Although Hormiya is more light-hearted and fun than this one, I think it is a lot similar. In both the anime series, the main characters have personalities that they didn’t show to others.

Also, both are some really good romance anime, and you’re bound to love them once you get in. So, it is a beautiful anime like Horimiya you need to check out.

3. Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai

Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai- anime like Horimiya

Puberty Syndrome is a type of disease that affects only teenagers, and its symptoms are supernatural, which makes it impossible to notice by everyone.

The story follows Sakuta, a high school student who sees Mai with this symptom, and in the process of helping her, he discovers more new things in life.

Don’t get the wrong idea about the title Bunny Girl because you’ll see a whole different anime in here. Honestly, it isn’t that similar to Horimiya in terms of the premise, but somehow I related myself to characters.

As I did in Bunny Girl Senpai, Horimiya felt a lot similar, and that’s why I think this is an anime like Horimiya you need to watch if you haven’t yet!

4. Oregairu

Oregairu- anime like Horimiya

My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU or Oregairu revolves around a delinquent high school student named Hachiman Hikigaya. When his teachers force him to join a club, he meets a beautiful girl, Yukino.

You know, how the life of a person who doesn’t believe in youth turns out from here. Hachiman Hikigaya is the weirdest and anti-social protagonist I’ve ever seen.

I found both the couples, Oregairu and Horimiya sharing, a few similarities. Like how Miya’s life takes a turn when he meets Hori, it is the same case here.

Except that, Oregairu takes a bit more time to take on a romance route, unlike Horimiya. Regardless, it is an amazing anime like Horimiya that you must watch.

5. Toradora

torpor- anime like horimiya

Ryuuji Takasu is a gentle person but labeled as a delinquent because of his intimidating face, and Taiga Aisaka is a cute but Tsundere girl.

When they both try to help each other out to make their respective confessions successful, they both fall in love in the process.

Horimiya feels like an advanced and more chilled version of Toradora. Both are rom-com, but there isn’t a single moment where you’ll get annoyed in Horimiya because everything was on point.

Toradora is also known as one of the best romance anime shows out there, and we recommend you to watch it.

Manga like Horimiya!

1. Switch Girl

Switch Girl- manga like Horimiya

Tamiya Nika is a beautiful and popular girl in her school, but she has another side only her best friend knows. However, a third-person finds out about her true self.

Kamiyama Arata is the exact opposite of Tamiya as he wears glasses at school and acts as an Otaku. But when he is at home, he turns into a hubby whom girls dream of!

From the premise, you can pretty much guess why both mangas are similar to each other. Yes, the main characters and even the chemistry between them feel the same.

Although it isn’t as good as Horimiya, you can love it for its adult humor and romance. In the end, it is an amazing manga like Horimiya.

2. Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku

Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku- manga like Horimiya

Narumi Momose was dumped by her every boyfriend once they found that she’s an Otaku. After a few years, she meets her childhood friend at her work, Hirotaka Nifuji.

While she’s been hiding her Otaku life all these days, Hirotaka knows her secret since he was a child. Narumi wants to make a deal with him to hide her secret, but surprisingly Hirotaka confesses to her.

The first thing I loved in this manga is its humor. It is on-point just like Horimiya, and both the couples hide their personalities with others.

Instead of building up the story to a where the characters are messed up, this manga features the scenes with tender and silly moments, yet it feels a lot pleasant and beautiful to read.

3. L❤DK

manga like Horimiya

Aoi Nishimori, a high school girl, ends up living next door to the school’s prince Shusei Kugayama. In Aoi’s eyes, Shusei is some cold person who rejected her best friend heartlessly!

But with a series of incidents, a spark forms between this couple. From the moment on, Aoi can’t stop her heart from beating whenever she sees him. Could this be love?

Yes, the story is nowhere near to being similar. However, you get as much enjoyment with this one as you had with Horimiya manga. It is a manga like Hormiya, but it isn’t; confusing, right?

Well, you’ll find out once you read it how it gives you the same feeling as Horimiya, and we assure you, this is worth a read!

4. Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun

Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun- manga like Horimiya

Chiyo Sakura has a crush on Umetarou Nozaki, and when she decides to confess to him, she finds out that he is a manga artist specialized in drawing girls.

Since he’s slow on the uptake of romance, Chiyo had a rough time all these days but not anymore because she just got recruited as his assistant.

Like Horimiya, this manga has plenty of hilarious moments, and the romance is on point too. If you’ve loved the characters in Horimiya manga, suit up, you’re going to have a similar ride.

Although this manga goes more onto the humor side, rather than romance direction, it is still a pretty amazing manga like Horimiya!

5. Oh! Holy!

Oh! Holy- manga like Horimiya

Jamie Oh! was a gloomy and lonely boy since he was a child because he can see and talk to the ghosts. However, when the school’s idol girl meets him, his whole life takes a turn.

It isn’t a manga but, a webtoon/manhwa with a different art style. As far as you’re into rom-coms, you’ll love this one. It got some hilarious moments, and it felt too similar to Horimiya while reading.

Both the main couple is the same as Hori and Miya. If you’re looking for a manga like Horimiya, then you should try this one out.

A Word from Us!

Honestly, I’ve never had such a good start with any of the Romance anime I’ve watched till now. I’m really glad that I watched Horimiya and also manga was splendid, worth catching up!

If you’ve watched Horimiya, then the above-recommended anime shows are sure to fill the void that’s left by Horimiya anime. And if you’re here for the manga, then that’s great too.

In the end, you get to see five anime and five manga similar to Horimiya! If you loved our list, let us know what you think in the comment section below.
