Best Selling Manga of all Time

Manga has been around for decades, and some of them are still running successfully. Some of the great examples are One Piece, Berserk (the sad thing is it won’t continue anymore), and a lot more.

So, what are some of the best selling manga of all time? In this article, we will take you on a journey to present you with this fantastic list. So, let’s get started.

Slam Dunk- Best Selling Manga

Sakuragi Hanamichi is a delinquent, and he has a stroke of pretty bad luck with girls as he’s been rejected fifty times. But Akagi is the only girl who isn’t afraid of him and introduces him to the basketball team.

Due to his athleticism and natural talent at the sport, he gets good at the game. Hoping Akagi to be his girl of dreams and fulfill the captain’s dream of winning the national championship, he determines himself.

Slam Dunk is my favorite sports manga and arguably one of the best manga I’ve ever read. There isn’t much space for cliche romance and humor, but every aspect is well-balanced.

If you’re into sports manga and haven’t read this one yet, you’re pretty unlucky to miss such a gem. It is one of the best selling manga of all time.

12. Bleach (120 Million+)

Bleach- Best Selling Manga

Ichigo Kurosaki, an ordinary high school boy, had no problem seeing spirits ever since he was young until a girl named Kuchiki Rukia, a shinigami, entered his life. In an attempt to destroy a hollow, she gets injured.

Left with no choice, Ichigo borrows her powers and becomes a full-fledged shinigami. From this moment, the spirit world isn’t going to leave him alone, and no one knows what’s waiting for him.

The only reason I love Bleach is because of the manga. For some reason, I couldn’t get into the anime and switched back to the manga and finally got to finish the story.

It might seem a bit slow initially, but if you give it some time to develop the characters and get you into the actual storyline, it’ll be one of the greatest stories you’ll ever read.

11. Osihinbo (135 Million+)

Oshinbo- Best Selling Manga

Tozai newspaper plans to celebrate its 100th anniversary by publishing the ‘Ultimate Menu” that describes the meal and drink for the Japanese people. But they selected Shirou Yamaoka for the challenge.

He’s an under ambitious and an A-rated slacker. Why did they pick him, of all people? That’s because Shirou possesses a comprehensive knowledge of food and has a good palate.

Osishinbo is an excellent culinary slice of life manga with immense entertainment. Once you start reading this, you’ll probably try out new ingredients at your home and spark an interest in cooking.

The story is pretty ordinary, focusing on food, but its art, situations, and how it explains everything related to food is what makes it truly exceptional and one of the best selling manga of all time.

10. Crayon Shin-chan (148 Million+)

Crayon Shin-chan- Best Selling Manga

Shinnosuke Nohara is a rude kid with an age of five years. He has a habit of liking dirty and inappropriate comments. So, he always causes trouble for his mother by blackmailing her for allowance.

Whether teasing girls at the playground or dropping his underpants, there is nothing he can’t find joy in. Witness the daily life adventures of Shin-chan.

Shin-chan is another classic we enjoyed when we were kids, and the manga is entirely worth looking into. I haven’t read it thoroughly, but as far as I read it, it was impressive.

The humor was on point, and even though some situations get repetitive, it still succeeds in making them hilarious. It is a must-read manga for everyone who loves funny manga.

9. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (150 Million+)

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba- Best Selling Manga

Kind-hearted Tanjiro works hard by selling charcoal in the village to support his family. But one day, when he gets back home, he finds his family massacred by a demon, and his little sister Nezuko turns into a demon.

Determined to turn her back into a human, he travels across Japan by becoming an official member of the Demon Slayer Corps. Can he succeed in doing what he is determined with?

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is a sensational story, and people who love to read must check this one out. Probably in a few years, it’ll definitely climb the ladder in the best selling manga list.

The manga is full of surprises and action-packed. If you haven’t read it yet, do it now or try to watch the anime (which is spectacular in every way).

8. KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops (156.5 Million+)

Ryoutsu is an underpaid policeman who always thinks of making money. To make a quick buck, he always comes up with underhanded schemes.

But since his plans are ridiculous, they always go wrong and put him in a tight spot with his chief. Witness his life adventures in this hilarious manga.

You see every aspect of traditional and modern Japanese life in this manga. If you love Japanese and humor, then this manga gives you everything you need.

There are many characters but only grounded on three main characters. So, it doesn’t get much repetitive, and overall, an awesome manga to read.

7. Doraemon (170 Million+)

Doraemon- Best Selling Manga

Nobita is a lazy and dumb boy, and due to his lack of motivation, his future generation are cursed forever with poverty. But from the far future, his grandson visits him to gift him Doraemon.

Doraemon is a mechanical cat with a 4th-dimensional pocket full of gadgets, but Nobita doesn’t efficiently use these gadgets. Will he save his future generation or stay as a loser forever?

We had watched Doraemon anime way too much when we were children. It was fun, entertaining, and a great time-killer. Now, if you can’t spare time to watch anime, reading manga would be a great option.

It has been on the best selling manga list for decades, and still, it goes strong. If you haven’t read it yet, check it out.

Black Jack depicts life with its own philosophy. This manga is for the people who enjoy thoughtful ideas in the most bizarre way possible.

The manga started in 1973 and successfully delivered fantastic content for the audience. If you haven’t read this one yet, you need to do it sooner or later.

Later on, his body shrinks as a seven-year-old boy, and to cope with the new appearance, he changes his name to Conan Edogawa. Will he be able to find the culprits?

Detective Conan or Case Closed is a long-running anime/manga. There are quite a lot of fillers in the anime, but the manga is a gem. It starts slowly with a few filler cases in the beginning, but the story progresses really well.

If you’re a fan of murder mysteries, you must read Detective Conan manga, and it is one of the best selling manga for a reason.

4. Naruto (250 Million+)

Naruto- Best Selling Manga

When a nine-tailed fox attacked the hidden leaf village, the Hokage sacrificed his life by sealing it in the body of his newborn child. From then on, Naruto was hated by everyone.

He is determined to prove to the villagers by becoming the Hokage. But his journey will not be easy as he should be ready to face way too many obstacles. Will he achieve his goal?

If Naruto hadn’t come on the list until now, I would’ve totally abandoned this article, I mean for real. This is one of the stories I personally adore a lot, and even if its the manga or anime, it doesn’t change the admiration.

For its creative and innovative fights, amazing storyline, and memorable characters, it is one of the best selling manga out there.

3. Dragon Ball (260 Million +)

On his journey, Goku meets a lot of friends and foes while exploring the new world. Can he find the dragon balls, and is that really all to the story?

Since childhood, I’ve been a massive fan of dragon ball anime, and a few months back, I read the manga. It was perfect, and no wonder it is the #3 best selling manga.

It doesn’t feel like your usual manga; instead goes with the flow and provides you with quite a lot of entertainment.

2. Golgo 13 (300 Million +)

Golgo 13 - Best Selling Manga

Golgo 13 has been the world’s greatest assassin for four decades, and someone constantly hires him. Whenever he is hired, it’ll be either to settle a personal score or change the history.

No one knows his name or nation, but his legend is known to everyone. G13 never fails with his job and never meets the clients again unless it comes to getting betrayed by them.

Golgo 13 is the second most selling manga as of now, with One Piece occupying the first place. The story starts pretty slow, just like the usual long-running ones, but it eventually grabs you into the story.

It is a lot of fun, and most modern comedies even have some sort of references from it. If you haven’t read this one yet, you might have to reconsider what you missed.

1. One Piece (490 Million+)

One Piece- Best Selling Manga
