The anime adaptation was a major hit and was the most popular series during its airing. Itadori makes new friends while learning how to control his powers and Sukuna’s takeover of his body. A high school student of Satozakura High was a friend of Itadori, who bonded over their love for movies. Junpei was bullied since early childhood, making him have an apathetic view of the world.

He believes that everyone is evil, and death does not bother him. Taking advantage of this, Mahito was able to turn him into a curse user. Junpei gained psychic powers and could summon a relatively strong jellyfish-like shikigami.

Mahito transforms Junpei into an abomination who dies after falling into the ground. This is the most tragic death in the series, as it was hinted to the viewers that Junpei would join the Jujutsu High and be friends with Itadori’s squad.

Eso uses the Wing King technique that shapes the blood coming out of his back into wasp-shaped wings, giving him more mobility. He can also attack lines of blood to great distances. They gave the viewers an epic battle and were a great challenge for Itadori and Nobara. The brothers were defeated by the two in addition to the high-intensity battle.

The most prominent villain of the series has a mini-volcano atop his head. He is an unregistered special-grade cursed spirit. Jogo thought curses were true humans and his kind should rule the Earth. Jogo can fight for a long time with immense cursed energy without being exhausted.

Similar to a volcano, he can create small volcanic openings on land and blow up heat rays from his palms. He can summon small insects from the opening on top of his head that make a loud noise before exploding on impact.

The Coffin of Iron Mountain is his Domain Expansion that is like the inside of a volcano, with volcanic stones that can instantly kill any normal person. Though Gojo occasionally defeated him using his Domain Expansion and Cursed Technique Reversal: Red.

Gojo did not take him seriously and used him as an exercise for Itadori. The fight between Gojo and Jogo gives us the first glimpse of Gojo’s true powers and portrays Jogo as a powerful villain in the series.

4. Hanami

Born out of fear of natural disaster, it is an unregistered special-grade curse, not to mention very tree-like in appearance. The ability to control plants, enhance strength, and with a hidden presence makes him one of the most problematic villains to tackle.

Hanami has powers that can make roots appear from the ground, create wooden balls with two sharp branches that can severely wound the opponent, launch cursed buds that feed off the one it’s attached to, and generate a sickle of flowers that strips the opponent’s will to fight. We get his first glimpse when Hanami interrupts the Joint High School Team Battle and gives us many instances of his strength.

It is also proved by the fact that Hanami survived Gojo’s attack. Looking at him for a long time may creep some people out, but it makes us think about many’s natural fears regarding calamities.

He can also create a barrier that restricts people’s entry. At first glance, he looks chill and funny but is trouble for humanity.

The King of the Curses is the most powerful villain of the series. Sukuna was a human sorcerer and, after his death, became a cursed spirit, but the curse was too strong for his body to be entirely destroyed. Due to this, Sukuna was divided into 20 indestructible fingers that grew in power each day.

Viewers were first introduced to him after Itadori ingested one of the fingers, and Sukuna awakened, taking control over the host and creating new eyes and mouth. His cursed energy is so strong that Shibuya feels his awakening. With a high intellect, great speed, and reflexes, he is the most notorious of the villains to defeat.

Sukuna enters into a binding vow with Itadori, allowing him to take over Itadori’s body for a full minute. Sukuna also possesses the technique to slash the target, no matter the texture of their skin or the level of the curse energy. Even though he is inside Itadori’s body, we see his untouchable powers, and the uncertainty of the episodes keeps the viewers on their toes.
