After its release in the summer of 2021, Tokyo Revengers became a blockbuster hit. Takemichi Hanagaki is a freelance writer whose life is already at an all-time low when the anime begins. Then it gets worse when he learns that his high school girlfriend has been murdered.

As a result, he travels back in time to join the Tokyo Manji Gang to stop the chain of events that led to her murder. The anime has many characters; some are more well-known than others. Each character is interesting in their own right and character rankings in Tokyo Revengers are both anticipated and unexpected. So, here are the best Tokyo Revengers characters!

10. Nahoya Kawata

Nahoya Kawata, also known as “Smiley,” is destined to win the hearts of anime-only viewers, just as he did of dedicated manga readers, even though he hasn’t had much of a presence in the anime yet.

The Tokyo Manji Gang’s Fourth Division Captain is Nahoya. He fiercely protects Souya, or “Angry,” his twin brother. Nahoya thrives on the adrenaline rush of a good battle and is never afraid to take on a challenge. Nahoya’s devotion is to his twin, even if he is devoted to the gang.

9. Shuji Hanma

Throughout Tokyo Revengers, Shuji has been a member of many gangs. He was one of Tetta Kisaki’s closest allies before joining the Kanto Manji Gang. As Tetta’s confidant, he would plan a series of attacks against the Tokyo Manji Gang to overthrow its present leadership.

Shuji, despite his flaws, is another character who thrives on a sense of excitement. Fighting is the one thing that fully satisfies his desire for thrills. To deal with his extreme boredom and to have any kind of excitement in his life, Shuji turned to street violence.

8. Hinata Tachibana

The death of Hinata Tachibana catalyzes the whole series. Takemichi would not have had to time travel if she hadn’t been slain, and we wouldn’t have had such a beautiful narrative.

Hinata is one of the most wholesome characters in the anime. She’s hopeful and lovely as Takemichi’s high school girlfriend, yet she’ll never back down from a battle. Takemichi admires her remarkable ability to know what to say in the most trying of situations. Despite being a teenager, she has more determination than some of the series’ most tenacious gangsters.

7. Kazutora Hanemiya

After his introduction to the anime, Kazutora rapidly became one of the series’ most popular characters. Kazutora’s bright, extroverted persona covers much of his inner anguish, which is precisely what makes him fascinating.

He was a founding member of the Tokyo Manji Gang, but he accidentally betrayed them after killing Mikey’s brother. He was freed from prison and welcomed into Valhalla. He spearheaded the fight against the Tokyo Manji Gang, culminating in the Bloody Halloween event, leading to his second incarceration. Kazutora appears to have atoned for his misdeeds and has been much more stable since then.

6. Takashi Mitsuya

5. Takemichi Hanagaki

Despite being the protagonist, Takemichi isn’t the most popular character in the series. He’s divisive, and it’s a common accusation that his emotions sabotage the entire show. Takemichi’s emotions, on the other hand, are his greatest asset; without them, he wouldn’t be known as the “Crybaby Hero.”

Takemichi seems to have lost his course in life. He was a freelance writer whose life had struck rock bottom when the audience met him. Takemichi, on the other hand, gains a lot of confidence after time-traveling to save Hinata’s life. He regained his previously shattered self-assurance and remained a guiding light for the rest of the ensemble.

4. Keisuke Baji

Ken Ryuguji, better known as “Draken,” quickly became a fan favorite. Draken, like the rest of his colleagues, is a wildcard as one of Tokyo Manji Gang’s original members and vice president. Draken, always looking for the next big battle, cannot retreat from a challenge.

Draken, on the other hand, is more mature and wise than the other members. He recognizes the need to accept responsibility for the gang’s hazardous behavior. Draken has a strong sense of justice despite his criminal past and urges people to do the right thing.

2. Chifuyu Matsuno

Chifuyu is the Tokyo Manji Gang’s first-division vice-captain. Chifuyu rapidly became a fan favorite after making his anime debut and was praised for his intellect and intense loyalty.

Chifuyu was an outspoken opponent of authority in middle school. He would use every chance to show his disdain for his superiors, particularly those who abused their positions of authority. After joining the Tokyo Manji Gang, he realized the value of brotherhood and became dedicated to safeguarding his buddies. He quickly took Takemichi under his wing and taught him the ropes of gang membership.

1. Mikey

The Tokyo Manji Gang is commanded by Manjiro Sano, also known as “Mikey.” He presents himself as a brash, extroverted adolescent who enjoys life to the fullest. He is, however, a ruthless commander who will go to any length to ensure the gang’s triumph.

Mikey is, without a doubt, the series’ most potent fighter. Mikey is coping with severe emotional distress underneath his cheerful demeanor. After succumbing to his evil inclinations, Mikey becomes one of the most fascinating characters to study in the entire series.

On the one hand, he’s a violent assailant committed to a life of carnage. On the other hand, Mikey felt great remorse for his acts and wanted to isolate himself so that no one else was harmed. It’s easy to forget that these guys are all teens, given the circumstances of the series. Mikey was forced to grow up sooner than he should have been due to his experience on the streets.
